After a winter in the shed, our boats flew today towards the water. This means the sailing season has officially started. The first meters have already been sailed!

On December 12th, Euros Sailing organized a magnificent gala. The lustrum committee had spent a long time planning this wonderful event, ensuring every detail was covered. From the DJ and the venue to a photographer and, of course, delicious drinks and snacks. In the afternoon, a few members started decorating the space, creating a festive atmosphere.

At 9:00 PM, the event kicked off, and members began arriving slowly, dressed in their finest attire. Many were naturally dressed in the stunning Bordeaux-Red, VO! Upon arrival, everyone was handed a glass of bubbly, which most downed immediately—something anyone could understand. The first …

Last weekend, it was time once again for the Windmillcup, this time held in Stavoren. Euros was well represented with  five boats and more than 25 members! Of course, the association boats were present. The Witte Draeck with Rolf, Ruben, and Tiemen on board. The FF, crewed by Ewoud, Jop, and Jort (Loefbijter), and of course Jaffa with Niels, Sophie, Menno, Johanna, and Timon, also formed part of the fleet.

Last Friday and Saturday, a three-man crew took third place in the Tour 1 class of the "24-uurs"! Bram, Niels and Jur braved the changeable weather. "A bit cold and wet, but above all a lot of fun!" was the first reaction of Bram, the skipper during the race.

On Wednesday, August 23, our cabin boat Off-Duty could be found on campus! There, the prospective students could immediately become acquainted with one of our cabin yachts, next to one of our Topper Topazes. This was done as part of the promotional activities of the Kick-In.

The boat drove to the campus the day before from Akkrum, where she normally lies. The day after she was driven to Lelystad and launched there. This way the boat would be on time for participating in the sailing race "24-uurs" (24 hours).

Today the Webcie released release 1.0.34. It had been a while since the last time the website was updated, so we sacrificed a couple of days of the holiday to bring you something new.

The most important improvements can be found in SAIL and in the premature release of the theme that will eventually replace the old one.

We are proud to be able to announce ourselves as the 59th board of D.Z. Euros!

Our main goals are to pick up tasks that have been gathering dust in the past years (like this news function), to get commissions up and running again and to attract a lot of enthusiastic new members. Ambitious goals, but fortunately, we are with six and not yet too sour (for the most part).
